The Public Comment period for the Spaceport Camden Draft Environmental Statement (“DEIS”) closed on June 14, 2018, after more than 1,000 negative comments were submitted to the Federal Aviation Agency. The Camden County Commission has approved the resolution for the loan to reimburse the County for all spaceport-related expenses, including engineering, legal fees and land acquisition. Camden County Administrator Steve Howard said the resolution sets a cap of $5 million for a bond to pay for the project.
